Before being acknowledged in the academic world as a woman and as an oustanding mathematician, from 1794 to 1807, she would use the nickname Antoine Auguste Le Blanc 😉
She had to use a masculine nickname👨 in the 18th century, just like female gamers in the 21st century 🎮
